Making Putter Adjustments

There are many ways to adjust the Crossbow Putter, some more scientific than others. Many golfers prefer the simplicity of Greenside Calibration, however an at-home Laser Calibration method is also available.

The Crossbow Putter is adjusted by inserting a tool into the hole in the back, loosening a screw, moving the aligner (arrow) to the proper angle and tightening the screw. Each protraction mark on the Crossbow Putter is equal to ½ degree. Long marks indicate 1 degree and short marks indicate ½ degree.

The aligner always points to the optimum point of contact on the putter face (sweet spot) so it does not deflect the ball when struck and ensures maximum MOI.

Greenside Calibration Method

  1. Set the Crossbow Putter to “0” or square to the club face.
  2. Stroke a few 10-foot straight putts (exact dimension 9’-6 ½”) with your normal setup and alignment. Do not make adjustments during calibration. Observe the “average” distance between your ball(s) and the center of the hole.
  3. For each ½ inch between your “average” miss and the center of the hole, adjust the Crossbow Putter by ¼ degree. Always adjust the Crossbow Putter so the aligner (arrow) points in the direction you miss.

Laser Calibration Method

  1. Set the Crossbow Putter to “0” or square to the club face.
  2. Attach a small mirror to the center of your putter face using double-faced tape.
  3. Position a laser pointer on the ground against a wall where you have room to stroke a 10-foot putt.
  4. Place a ball on the ground 10 feet (exact dimension 9’-6 ½”) from the laser pointer and adjust the laser beam so it points at the center of the ball.
  5. Address the ball with your normal setup and alignment as if you were going to stroke a putt to the laser pointer.
  6. Once set, have someone move the ball. Do not move during calibration. The laser beam will reflect off the mirror back to the wall showing actual alignment. The laser beam will likely appear above the hole because the putter face has loft.
  7. For every 1 inch you align from the center of the laser pointer, adjust the Crossbow Putter by ¼ degree. Always adjust the Crossbow Putter so the aligner (arrow) points in the direction you miss.
